Our History
Gray Station Community Church is a non-denominational church whose teachings are based on the Bible, the infallible Word of God. In the Spring of 1954, Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Overton donated a piece of land to the group of believers who were meeting for church services in the old Gray Station Schoolhouse. Work was started immediately. The men and women worked side by side with picks and shovels, digging the foundation by hand. As in Nehemiah 4:6, “The people had a mind to work”, and by December of 1954 the basement was completed and the group began meeting there for Sunday Services. In the summer of 1955 the sanctuary was finished and the group of believers dropped its membership from the American Sunday School Union and became the Gray Station Community Church, Inc. The church not only serves the local community but also has members from outlying communities.
Our Mission
The primary mission of Gray Station Community Church is to present Jesus Christ, God’s Son, as our Lord and Savior through the preaching and teaching of the Holy Scriptures. It is our desire to teach, equip and disciple those who come to worship Him in Spirit and in truth.
What We Believe
We believe…
…there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
…in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father and His personal future return to this earth for His body, the Church.
…the Bible is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative written Word of God.
…the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious blood of Christ.
…in water baptism by immersion.
…in divine healing through the stripes which Jesus bore.
…in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life.
…in the baptism and gifts of the Holy Spirit.
… in the resurrection of the saved to eternal life and those who reject Christ to eternal separation from God.
